After years of fronting local cover bands, Sunshine Coast singer songwriter, Brian Boyce, formed The East Coast Lows Band, initially to perform and promote his own, blues-tinged originals, along with other respected covers. In collaboration with a trusted line-up of local musos, Brian arranged and refined a selection of his own authentic, homegrown blues and pop/rock songs, recorded under the discerning ear of Sleepwalk Studio’s Aaron Giffin. ECL’s EP, ‘Chasing the Blues Away’, emerging from the lost time of ‘lock-down’, provided the first commercial release for their post-pandemic recovery, and, since then, has been supplemented in live gigs by a range of other tunes destined for the follow up album. Paul Lynch on drums and Jon Brown on bass, comprise the rock-steady rhythm section, with guitarists Danny Cella and John Mitchell, alternating to provide the counterpoint to Brian’s unique vocal timbre. While also known for their more recent Aussie Rock cover-shows, ECL continue to present their original tunes at festivals or community events, as well as sprinkled amongst the much-loved hits in their Oz-rock cover show, at local venues.
